North Yue Hengshan

恒山位于浑源县城南10公里处，距大同市市区62公里，又名常山、恒宗、元岳、紫岳。恒山上雄关并立，倒马关、紫荆关、平型关、雁门关、宁武关虎踞为险，是塞外高原通向冀中平原之咽喉要冲，自古是兵家必争之地。主峰天峰岭在浑源县城南，海拔2016.1米，被称为“人天北柱”、“绝塞名山”、“天下第二山”。1982年，恒山风景名胜区被国务院列入第一批国家级风景名胜区。

Hengshan mountain is located 10 kilometers south of Hunyuan County, 62 kilometers away from the urban area of Datong city, also known as Changshan, Hengzong, Tianyue, Ziyan. Hengshan on the strong pass, inverted Maguan, Bauhinia Pass, Pingxingguan, Yanmen Pass, Ningwu guan tiger for danger, is the throat of the plateau to the central Hebei Plain, since ancient times has been a military strategists must contend for. The main peak, Tianfengling, is in the south of Hunyuan County, 2016.1 meters above sea level. It is known as "The North pillar of man and heaven", "the extinct famous mountain" and "the second mountain in the world". In 1982, Hengshan Scenic Area was listed as the first batch of national scenic spots by the State Council.
